Would (and likely will!) happily use them again

Complete chimney rebuild, removed cement harling, repaired underlying stonework and re-harled with lime render.

Great team of talented stonemasons – extremely knowledgable and committed to using the right traditional materials and techniques. Good communications, timely, did a fantastic job and were totally delightful to have on site.

Jacob and his team did a fantastic job of our ceiling at short notice

Jacob and his team did a fantastic job of our ceiling at short notice. He was great at communication prior to the job and the team were quick and clean at putting up plasterboard and then giving it a skim the next day. The end result looks great and they even did a little extra plastering around our fireplace which was relaly appreciated. A great job all round. Thankyou!

Workmanship and attention to detail is beyond amazing

Thank you so much to Keith and the fantastic team at City Crafts for restoring our 200 year old rose and plaster work after our ceiling collapsed dramatically in December. This is the second time that we have used City Crats for our Georgian townhouse restoration work and the workmanship and attention to detail is beyond amazing. I really appreciated the fact that Keith kept me informed all the way

5. Edinburgh Plastering & Tiling

Website: https://www.edinburghplastering.co.uk/

Address: 16 Baronscourt Road

Contact: 07729 109784; [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM; Saturday, 8 AM – 12:30 PM

Established in 1986, Edinburgh Plastering & Tiling is a family-run building firm that offers comprehensive home-improvement services.

Their experienced craftsmen handle drylining, stone repairs, and exterior rendering under one roof. This way, you get the complete service without hiring another contractor.

Their process involves combining skilled wall plastering and skim coating with tiling and damp proofing, ensuring your walls are fully protected against moisture before painting.

We like that they make filing claims stress-free by accepting all major insurance companies.

On top of that, they offer labour and material guarantees, so you can feel confident in the long-term durability and quality of their workmanship.

However, because they aren’t exclusively focused on plastering, their schedule fills up fast with general building contracts. Homeowners may find themselves competing for slots against larger commercial clients.

Pros

  • Established family business since 1986
  • Provides plastering, tiling, and general building repairs
  • Guarantees all work against labour and material defects
  • Accepted by all major insurance providers

Cons

  • Commercial projects can create scheduling competition

Denis was excellent and very professional

Denis was excellent and very professional. He came and assessed my job and gave some very helpful advice and feedback on what needed doing. We agreed (a very reasonable) price and suitable time. Denis did the job over a number of days and was a very tidy and clean worker. The completed job was excellent despite it being fairly fiddly and the finished plaster work has made a world of difference to the look of my room. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Thank you

Dennis was brilliant

Dennis was brilliant. Arranged to visit shortly after being contacted (same day actually) and discussed the job (plaster-repairs and tiling of kitchen splash back area) in detail, sharing his many years of experience. Work was then arranged to suit my schedule and carried out to timescale and budget (which was less than quoted elsewhere). I ended up being away for some of the time and had no issues at all in giving Dennis my keys and allowing him to get on with it.
