The 5 Best Blinds Installers in Edinburgh Bringing Safety & Style
I’ve installed enough blinds in Edinburgh to know when a company’s the real deal or just holding a drill for decoration. Sure, you may have enlisted the best window cleaners for sparkling panes, but if the brackets aren’t level and the chain jams after a week, that’s not a good view.
So here’s my shortlist of the blinds folks who get it right, from Marchmont bay window dressing to giving your Leith office windows some privacy. They can measure properly, turn up on time, and won’t leave you with a wonky roller!
How much do blinds cost in Edinburgh?
In Edinburgh, you’ll pay £30 to £80 for a standard made-to-measure roller or venetian blind, including basic fit, while premium materials or motorised systems can push the cost to £150 to £300.
Major UK retailers show ready-made blinds from around £15, and bespoke options starting from £40. Hourly rates for installation are usually in the £20 to £30 range.
When you add in fitting, measuring, and site-specific work (particularly in older Edinburgh tenements), you should budget a bit extra for a clean job.
1. 1st Choice Blinds Edinburgh

Address: 8 Cumberland Street
Phone: +441316101690
Business hours: Daily, 8 AM–8 PM
1st Choice Blinds handled my oddly slanted tenement windows like they’d seen worse in Morningside on a Monday (which, in all fairness, they probably have). Their measuring was spot-on, and the custom sizing meant my new roller and blinds sat flush instead of waving at the neighbours.
They came with a full spread of options: rollers, Venetians, verticals, even smart blinds for folks who’d rather tap an app than pull a chain. They turned up on time, drilled like pros, and had everything levelled before I even finished my cuppa.
The mechanism was smooth, and the installer explained why certain fabrics fare better in Scottish light (rare as it is). The installation was tidy enough that I didn’t have to chase fallen plaster around my flat after.
So if you want blinds that look intentional and not accidental, they’re one of the safest bets in Edinburgh. However, they’re quite popular, so peak times (late spring to early summer and post-Christmas/January sales) can mean a bit of a wait.

2. The Scottish Shutter Company

Address: 2 Ainslie St, Dundee DD5 3RR
Phone: +441382597089
Business hours: By appointment
The Scottish Shutter Company showed up while I was helping my pal measure his new window seat cushion, and they handled the blinds installation like pros. Their custom sizing was spot on, especially on those deep recesses where cheaper blinds usually just give up and hang crooked.
The materials on various options (verticals, rollers, Venetians, etc.) felt sturdy and had smooth mechanisms, so my friend felt a bit spoiled for choice. They helped him decide by pointing out finishes that can withstand direct sunlight.
We expected sharp, exasperated intakes of breath when they saw the stonework, but they went right at it without any complaint. They did a neat job, too; they drilled clean, levelled everything perfectly, and had the blinds working before the sunlight hit too hard.
The finished setup made the whole window seat look polished, with the blinds looking built-in rather than stuck on. That said, their premium shutters and smart options can really stretch the budget.
No fuss and no mess
Brilliant family-run business. Absolutely delighted with the whole process. We already have shutters in one room and roller and Roman blinds in a few others, fitted 15 years ago by Scottish Shutters, so we went back again for more blinds. Same personal, professional service as before. Everyone turned up at the arranged time, really friendly and helpful, no fuss and no mess. Due to flimsy walls, I wanted advice on what to install, and I am very happy we went back to these guys. I didn’t get any other quotes as I just wanted the job done well, and I am very happy with the price, installation and the blinds.

There was good communication from the company
Delighted with our new living room shutters. They are exactly what we wanted, and the whole process was straightforward from the home visit to fitting. Leon advised and also listened to what we wanted, and the result is perfect. There was good communication from the company before, during & after the fitting. We would definitely choose this company again and recommend it to others.

3. Delta Blinds Edinburgh

Address: 6 Swanfield

Business hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
Saturday, 10 AM–1 PM
I was sitting in my favourite pub, and being the carpentry anorak that I am, I began wondering why their roller blinds sat so neatly against the frame. After seeing the work up close (pint in hand, of course), I finally understood why nothing was uneven or snagging.
The mechanisms glided smoothly, and the installers have clearly mastered the art of dealing with old stone walls and wonky ancient recesses. Turns out, Delta Blinds Edinburgh were the ones behind it.
I checked with them afterwards, and the quotes I got were refreshingly straightforward rather than all that “it depends on the window” beating around the bush. Yes, they offer free quotes and even a free measuring visit!
If their pub installation is anything to go by, they’re pros who value precision over shortcuts, leaving windows looking sharp and properly finished. They even carry child-safe blinds for those living with wee ones.
Do note that some of their fancier fabrics can run pricier than expected. And because they handle both domestic and commercial jobs, scheduling may require a bit of flexibility on your part.
Very reasonably priced and good quality
Excellent service from measuring, fitting and supplying the blinds. Very reasonably priced and good quality. Would highly recommend this company.

Excellent service from Peter and Tony
Excellent service from Peter and Tony, called up to get a quote on a couple of blinds, Peter came straight round and gave me some good, honest options. A couple of days later, I ordered the perfect-fit roller blinds. They were fitted within a week and look perfect! Will definitely use again and can happily recommend Delta.

4. Edinburgh Budget Blinds Limited

Address: 17-21 E Mayfield
Phone: +447555111200
Business hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
Saturday, 9 AM–noon
I was overseeing the renovation of three tenement flats around Leith, with each window a different size and shape. It was a problem until Edinburgh Budget Blinds stepped in to handle the measurements like they’ve done it a thousand times before.
Their custom sizing meant every roller, Venetian, and vertical blind went into place without a single awkward gap or fill-fitting bracket. They also made sure the materials matched each window’s needs (old stone wall on flat A, deep recess in flat B, and a weird roof-light window in flat C).
Installation was quick, clean, and each quote was clearly laid out with supplies, fit, materials, and no hidden fees. They even set up a motorised option for that one client who had mobility issues and couldn’t stretch over the sofa to pull up a chain.
They offer “average savings of 30% compared to competitors,” which was really the bottom line for most of my clients. In our project, the stretch budget mattered, and we were glad that they managed professionalism minus the premium pricing.
However, the “budget” tag means some of the higher-end premium materials or very bespoke smart-blind systems might not match ultra-luxury brands.
Also, because they aim for affordability, lead times can vary for large or unusual orders compared to boutique installers.
Great price for great quality blinds!
I am very happy with the service provided. All blinds were measured and fitted perfectly, turnaround time was very quick, and Greig really took the time to understand our preferences and advise us on what would and would not work. And all of this at a great price, for great quality blinds! Highly recommend!

5. Phoenix Blinds

Address: Unit 6, Bonnington Rd

Business hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM
Saturday, 10 AM–2 PM
I confess to getting my interior design and carpentry genes from Mum, and it was underlined by her newly renovated home’s grand reveal when she insisted only wooden blinds would do. Naturally, I rang in Phoenix Blinds to make it happen.
They measured each window, offered her roller, Venetian, vertical, and smart-blind options, but wooden Venetians won the day. They slotted the installation into her hectic schedule with nary a fuss.
They can do custom sizing for any room type: flat, tenement, bay, or deep recess, using durable materials and smooth operation mechanisms. Their installation team turned up, drilled clearly into the stone wall, fitted the wooden slats neatly, and left no mess behind.
My mum now sits smugly by the window seat, glass in hand, and always commenting on what a good fit her blinds are in her design scheme. I have to agree: they look bespoke, premium, and properly installed.
That said, the wooden blinds and smart-upgrade options cost more than basic fabrics, so budgets may stretch.
We definitely received a five-star service
We had real wooden blinds fitted by Phoenix Blinds throughout our house and would thoroughly recommend this company. Peter is exceptionally helpful and was happy to spend time discussing what we wanted and to give us the benefit of his advice and long experience. He is professional, courteous and very pleasant to deal with. We had a small problem with one of the blinds (a manufacturing issue from his suppliers), and he was determined to solve it and to make sure everything was perfect for us. We were very impressed by this excellent customer service and by the final result. Peter arrived punctually and kept us apprised of the progress of our order. The blinds were fitted within a fortnight and look great. The price was very reasonable, too. Well done, Phoenix Blinds. We definitely received a five-star service from you, and we are very happy customers.

The service provided was fantastic
The service provided was fantastic. They came out initially to measure up and then suggested that I get some panels put up to help support the blinds, which I got done, and they came back out and remeasured them to make sure all was correct. They phoned to state that the blinds were in now and were able to come out and fit them two days later. They came when they said they would and have done a fantastic job. Thank you.
