Eagle Couriers is one of my top recommendations, especially for business deliveries. They’ve been around since 1985, and they cover both local runs and sending stuff abroad. If you’re in a pinch, they offer same-day delivery across the UK, 24/7, which can be a lifesaver.
What makes them handy for businesses is their economy delivery. Yes, it’s a wee bit slower, but for small local shops trying to get products out across the country without spending a fortune, it does the job.
They’ve also got decent storage options, both short- and long-term. Their warehouses are right here in the city, so if you need a storage space that doubles as your courier, they’ll handle that too.
Unfortunately, I’ve heard the odd complaint about items getting damaged. It’s also disappointing that they sometimes miss enquiries.

They do both local and international deliveries, teaming up with big-name couriers around the world. What’s good is they’re also up for handling more sensitive stuff, like auction wins or valuable artwork.
Another thing I like is that they provide packing services—handy if you’ve got a bunch of bits to send and don’t fancy wrestling with tape and bubble wrap yourself.
That said, they’re definitely not the cheapest option. Also, their Edinburgh branch is closed on weekends, so if anything crops up then, you’ll need to wait till Monday to get it sorted.

The courier I usually go for when sending out my knitted bits to pals and family is Evri Parcelshop. They’ve got 20 spots across Edinburgh where you can drop parcels off, which makes things a lot easier than trekking across town to some depot.
One thing I like is their mobile app. It makes booking and tracking straightforward, plus you can reroute parcels if needed and pay straight from your phone.

Another good option if you’re planning to send something delicate is Pack & Send. They’re easy enough to deal with, and what’s handy is that they not only collect and deliver but also pack your things properly for you.
They’re not shy about handling pricier or more unusual stuff either. I’m talking about things like paintings, antiques, lab gear, and even the odd motorbike. They’ve got the setup to manage it all properly.
Their service comes with loss and damage cover too, which is a good assurance if you’re sending something you’d rather not replace out of pocket.
That said, I’ve heard from a few folks that delivery times can drag out a bit past what was promised. And if that rolls into the weekend, you’re stuck waiting, since their office is shut then.
