But being an adult comes with many wonderful responsibilities. And nothing resets a home like getting every corner, skirting board, and forgotten shelf scrubbed back into existence.
Edinburgh has no shortage of cleaning companies, but not all of them do true deep cleaning that goes beyond a quick sweep or weekly tidy-up. Below are the cleaning services that consistently stood out for us.

Home Sweet Home is one of those cleaning companies you end up calling again because they’re consistent, and consistency is half the battle with deep cleaning.
Their team works methodically, and customers mention how you can see the difference in how they finish edges, corners, and awkward areas.
Their deep cleaning package covers the essentials, but what makes them stand out is their willingness to stay longer if an area needs extra work. When I booked them for my personal cleaning needs, they told me upfront that my oven required a specialised clean (not my proudest moment as a home-owner, but it is how it is).
Flexibility is a big plus here, too; they can add carpet steaming, appliance cleaning, or window washing, depending on what your place needs.
On the downside, they’re popular. Weekend slots fill quickly, and last-minute bookings can be tough.

If you prefer eco-friendly cleaning products or you’re sensitive to strong chemical smells, EcoClean is genuinely one of the best services in the city. They use plant-based products, professional steamers, and microfibre systems that get stubborn grime out without overpowering fragrances.
I tried booking their services for one of the rooms where my dog stays, and it really made a difference because he hasn’t sneezed there since! Overall, the room felt fresher, smelling like natural refreshers instead of the usual chemicals like bleach.
One thing to know: eco-friendly doesn’t mean cheap. Their pricing sits on the higher end partially because of the products they use and partially because they spend a fair amount of time on detailed work.
The clean itself was thorough and done with care and attention.

Their main office is not technically located in Edinburgh, but I booked Maid2Clean just last month, and they delivered. They’re known for regular cleaning services, but their deep cleaning option is surprisingly good for the price, since they do exactly what you need.
This is a good service if you’re preparing for guests, recovering from a chaotic month (me), or catching up after a renovation. They aren’t the company you hire for extremely specialised cleaning, but for general deep cleaning, they’re good to go.
The trade-off for affordability is detail, and I found that out when they told me they didn’t offer intensive oven cleaning when I told them mine needed specialised care (as you know by now). I also pointed out specific spots that needed extra attention.
Still, for the price, the results are impressive, especially if you’re not looking for showroom-level perfection.

Bright & Beautiful operates differently from most cleaning companies: teams arrive in coordinated uniforms, follow a structured cleaning process, and move with military-level precision.
If you’re someone who likes everything done systematically, this service will hit every expectation, but even if you’re someone like me who thrives on chaos, it’s a welcome surprise.
Their deep cleaning is genuinely impressive; they dismantle what can be dismantled, scrub what most people pretend doesn’t exist, and polish areas other companies gloss over. In my case, it was the corner of my shower. (Check yours now. You’ll be surprised how much dirt accumulates there!)
They’re one of the most premium options, though, and their pricing reflects the level of detail. But in exchange, you get spotless kitchens (inside appliances too), polished fixtures, streak-free windows, and a house that feels new.

I booked Malbet long ago for a different service when I needed to repaint and redecorate my room. And when they finished the job (wonderfully, I might add), I found out that they also do deep cleaning, so when the need came up, I called them again, and once more, they did not disappoint.
When they were repainting, they moved through the room with ease, and their cleaning worked the same way: they moved through the flat room by room, and handled it with excellent precision. It left me wondering why I’d ever accepted its previous state as normal.
Price-wise, Malbet sits comfortably in the middle, which makes them one of my go-to services from now on, from cleaning to renovations.
Plus, since I’m an introvert, I appreciated how they focused on working and not on chit-chatting with me (but that might not be the same for everyone).
