Make bathroom breaks comfier with the best toilet in Edinburgh!

Range of options - We picked toilet shops that offer a wide selection of models, including compact, wall-mounted, and comfort-height designs, as well as trusted brands like Duravit and Grohe.

Product quality - We considered whether these shops stock reliable, long-lasting toilets based on brand reputation, build materials, and the availability of manufacturer warranties or satisfaction guarantees.

Additional services offered - We prefer shops that provide installation services or work closely with professional fitters. We also chose those that offer design consultations and delivery options to make the process smoother.

Customer service - We checked whether their staff are knowledgeable, approachable, and responsive to enquiries.

Price fairness - We looked at whether their pricing is transparent and reasonable, especially when factoring in product quality, installation services, and any available discounts or package deals.

I didn’t think much about my old toilet. It had been around for years, needed the odd fix, but it worked fine, so I just left it be.

Then I found out how much water those older models actually use! That hit a nerve because I’m not keen on wasting money or water, and it turns out I’d been doing both without realising.

So I swapped it out. I found a good toilet shop that had decent options and even sorted the installation for me. No hassle, just got it done.

Since it all went smoothly, I figured I’d pull together a list of the best toilet shops in Edinburgh to help anyone else thinking of making the switch.

How much do toilets cost in Edinburgh?

Toilet prices in Edinburgh can vary quite a bit depending on the type and quality you’re after. Basic models tend to cost around £115, mid-range ones with better efficiency sit closer to £280, and high-end or designer options average about £600.

Napier Bathrooms & Interiors was where I got my brand-new toilet, mainly because they’re an official distributor of TOTO washlets. These are the high-tech Japanese toilets with built-in bidets and automatic cleaning features, and I’d been curious about them for a while.

One thing that really helped was their 4D Theatre design service. The virtual reality setup let me see exactly how the toilet would look in my space and gave me a better sense of what changes could improve the overall layout.

They handled the full renovation, too, which made things easier. I also appreciated the snagging period where someone came back to check for small fixes, and the 12-month workmanship guarantee gave me peace of mind.

That said, their quote was noticeably higher than others I received. I also had trouble reaching them for follow-up questions and had to call several times before getting a proper response.

Pros

  • Official distributor of TOTO washlets
  • Offers the 4D Theatre design service
  • Full bathroom renovation included
  • Snagging period for post-installation fixes
  • 12-month workmanship guarantee

Cons

  • Above-average prices
  • Sometimes misses enquiries

The fittings are top quality and the workmanship is outstanding

“I have waited for four months since our bathroom remodel to see whether we loved the job as much now as we did when it was completed. We do! The Napier team transformed a typical Edinburgh (Marchmont) long and thin bathroom into a truly luxurious bathroom with a large shower unit. The design is perfect for the space available, the fittings are top quality and the workmanship is outstanding. While the work took a little longer than expected, the disruption proved much less than we feared. It may have been expensive, but it was worth every penny. We now have a bathroom to be proud of. Our thanks to Daniel, Johnny and the indefatigable Robert.”

If you’re hoping to save a bit on your toilet upgrade, Wickes is worth a look. Their Edinburgh branch carries brands like Roca, Abacus, and Balterley, along with their own Wickes-branded range that starts at just £79.

They don’t just sell toilets; they install them too. You can book a free design appointment online or in-store, and they’ll guide you through a 3D layout of your space. If you go with one of their pricier toilets, you can even get 20% off the installation fee.

Wickes also offers a two-year workmanship guarantee, which is always nice. And if you’re watching your budget, they provide interest-free credit to help make things more manageable.

Unfortunately, their Edinburgh branch doesn’t always have everything in stock. It’s also disappointing to hear that some customers have encountered rude behaviour from their staff.

Pros

  • Has affordable entry-level options starting at £79
  • Offers full installation services
  • Free 3D design appointments
  • Interest-free credit available
  • 2-year workmanship guarantee
  • 20% discount on installation fees for their high-end toilets

Cons

  • Some products aren’t stocked regularly
  • Some rude staff

Their prices are competitive

“I’m happy with the store. Their prices are competitive. The store is much more convenient to reach than B&Q and easier to browse than Screwfix.”

Victor Paris Bathrooms is a solid choice if you’re planning to remodel your entire bathroom and upgrade your toilet at the same time. They offer a free design service that uses virtual reality to show you exactly how your new bathroom could look.

Yep, you can step into a digital version of the space and get a proper feel for the layout and finishes before anything’s installed. Once your design is sorted, they’ve got a good selection of toilets from well-known brands like Duravit and Heritage.

They also handle installation and offer after-sales support, including dealing directly with manufacturers if any issues come up.

However, they’re not perfect. I’ve heard some stories about damaged items arriving during delivery, which is frustrating. Some customers also mentioned feeling brushed off when visiting their showroom, which isn’t good if you’re trying to make a big purchase.

Pros

  • Free virtual reality design service
  • Offers installation services
  • Provides aftercare support

Cons

  • Occasional delivery damage incidents
  • Some dismissive staff

Fantastic range of products in store

“Excellent service from Zara at Victor Paris Edinburgh. Talked us through different products and options. Never pushy with sales, provided us with alternatives which kept us within budget. Fantastic range of products in store. I live in Glasgow but would 100% travel to Edinburgh for the range of services and products. They recommended local Glasgow bathroom specialist David @citybathroomsglasgow to install the bathroom. David and his son Jamie are amazing. Attention to detail is second to none! Super pleased with our new bathroom and it’s all down to Zara and David!”

Victor Paris has exquisitely made products which are a joy to use

“I am normally lazy about leaving reviews but I wanted to share that I have had brilliant service from Victor Paris and in particular from the Edinburgh showroom and their designer, Ross, who is based there. Victor Paris has exquisitely made products which are a joy to use and Ross enabled me to turn this into reality by steering me round the pitfalls and ironing out the bumps in the road. Well worth a trip to their Edinburgh showroom.”

Another toilet shop I’d recommend if you’re working with a tight budget is The Bathroom Showroom. They’re part of City Plumbing, which means they carry reliable brands like Roca, Vitra, and Geberit.

Like the others I mentioned earlier, they offer a free 3D design service that helps you visualise how your new toilet will fit into your bathroom before making any decisions.

But what stands out is their five-year guarantee on all bathroom furniture, including toilets. They also offer flexible finance options, giving you the choice between shorter interest-free plans or longer ones with a modest interest rate.

The only major downside is that they don’t handle installation, so you’ll need to arrange your own fitter once your toilet is delivered.

Pros

  • Free 3D design service
  • 5-year furniture guarantee
  • Offers flexible finance options
  • Can deliver within 48 hours

Cons

  • No installation service
  • Limited weekend hours

Great showroom with plenty on display

Buyrite Bathrooms is another solid option if you’re after a toilet with smart features. They stock the Vitra V-Care Smart Toilet, which is pretty similar to the TOTO model I bought; it comes with a heated seat, bidet functions, and even app control.

They also carry newer models from brands like RAK Ceramics, Tavistock, and Roca. These offer practical upgrades like comfort height adjustments, soft-close seats, and quick-release hinges that make cleaning easier.

It’s also nice that they offer free 3D design services. They even offer aftercare support, so if anything goes wrong, they’ll help coordinate with the manufacturer.

That said, I’m disappointed to learn that they sometimes fail to respond to enquiries. Also, their delivery service needs some improvements, as some customers have received incorrect or incomplete orders.

Pros

  • Sells the Vitra V-Care smart toilet
  • Wide range of modern toilet options
  • Free 3D bathroom design service
  • Offers aftercare support

Cons

  • Sometimes misses enquiries
  • Delivery issues with wrong or incomplete items

They have a very good selection of bathrooms to view in the showroom

“They have a very good selection of bathrooms to view in the showroom. We enlisted help from David to design a new bathroom for us and we were very impressed with his patience and time spent showing us what we could do. We came away with a plan and a website to choose furniture and we will come back to finalize our choices.”

– Irene Scullion, Google Reviews

Prices are good and the quality is high

“This is the 5th time, over the many years, we have bought our bathroom suite or shower room suite from Buyrite. Prices are good and the quality is high. We buy our suites from Buyrite, then hire a local company/tradesman through MyBuilder.com to rip the old suite out and install the new suite, and it always works out a lot cheaper than getting one company to supply and install. Keith at Buyrite Gorgie Road is very knowledgeable and helpful and designed the layout of our bathroom for us in a way we hadn’t considered, which was actually better than the layout we had in our minds. Highly recommend this company!”
