I’ve been into drawing for as long as I can remember. Back then, I’d scribble on almost anything, like school books, napkins, and even cereal boxes. These days I like sticking my art on t-shirts. It’s a fun way to wear something that actually means something, and it gets me a few nods when I’m out and about.
When it comes to printing my artwork, I’m all about screen printing. None of that fancy DTF stuff for me. With screen printing, the colours stay bright, and the print doesn’t crack or peel after a few washes.
I’ve got a favourite place I use and thought I’d share a few good screen printing spots around Edinburgh. If you’re thinking of printing your own stuff, this might help.
How much does screen printing cost in Edinburgh?
Screen printing costs in Edinburgh can vary depending on the number of colours in your design, the quantity of items you’re printing, and the type of garment. Expect to pay around £3.50 for single-colour prints and around £8 for multi-colour designs.
1. Print Empress

I’ve used Print Empress a couple of times now to get some of my artwork printed onto shirts, and they’ve been solid. One of the main reasons I went with them in the first place was their no minimum order setup. Most places want you to commit to ten or twenty pieces, which isn’t ideal in my case.
I also like how good their screen printing process is. They use water-based inks, which are better for the environment and feel softer on fabric. They also do this thing called Split Fountain printing, where they blend colours on screen to create gradients.
It’s not something you see often and is a cool option if you’re into that handmade look.
However, because they’re only a small studio, they’re not exactly geared for huge commercial jobs. For bulk orders, you’ll need to give them time to work through it properly.

If you’re after a shop with real experience in screen printing, Swish Print is a solid choice. They’ve been around since 1994 and are especially worth a look if you’re planning a bulk order.
Their bulk discounts start at 10% for just four items and increase with quantity, which makes them a practical option for companies or events. They also offer price matching, so if you’ve found a cheaper quote elsewhere, they’ll try to beat it.
For urgent jobs, their express printing service is a lifesaver. Place your order before 11 AM, and they’ll have it ready the next day.
Just keep in mind they’re closed on weekends, and standard orders can take up to five days. If you’re on a tight schedule, the express option might be your best bet.

If you’re in a real hurry, Mintee Print is one screen printing shop I’d recommend. They offer same-day printing, and if you get your order in before noon, it’s usually ready for pickup by the end of the day.
What’s nice is there’s no minimum order. You can print just one shirt if that’s all you need. But if you’re ordering in bulk, they offer discounts that go up to 50%.
Their screen printing process is solid. They use eco-friendly materials that meet the Organic Content Standard. There’s also a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, so if the print isn’t up to scratch, they’ll refund you in full.
However, please note that they might need up to 15 days to complete bulk orders. And since they’ve only been around since 2024, they might not be a good fit for folks who prefer a shop with a longer track record.

Most of the shops I’ve mentioned so far stick to the usual screen printing for apparel and labels. But if you’re after something a bit more distinctive, there’s Mooday Monday. It’s a small studio that focuses on wallpaper and textiles.
What sets them apart is their commitment to hand screen printing. Everything is done in-house using water-based, non-toxic inks, and the colours are mixed by hand. Their wallpapers are printed on heavyweight PEFC-certified paper, which means they’re built to last.
They also offer a bespoke design service, which is ideal if you’ve got a specific vision in mind. On top of that, they run hand screen printing courses. I’ve been thinking about signing up myself, just to get a feel for the process.
The catch is that their traditional methods take time and cost more. They’re not built for big commercial jobs.

Another screen printing shop I can recommend for your garments is Superlogo. They’re based in Loanhead, which can be a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the north side of Edinburgh. Still, what they offer might make the trip worthwhile.
Their screen printing service is well set up for more than just basic t-shirts. They handle school hoodies, team kits, and event merch with no fuss. They supply the garments too, and if you’re leaning towards sustainability, they offer eco-friendly options made from recycled fabric.
It’s also good that they have a price match guarantee. Furthermore, they offer free delivery on orders over £250, which helps if you’re buying in bulk.
The main drawback, aside from their location, is that they only print on garments they supply. If you’ve already bought your own, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
