5 Best Professional Organizer Services in Edinburgh to Tame the Clutter

  • Fits Real Life: I looked for organisers who tailor systems to your habits, so the tidiness lasts longer than a weekend.

  • Gets Stuck In: I favoured hands-on help that makes visible progress before you’ve spent all day debating one drawer.

  • No Judgement: I prioritised kind, practical support for sorting the stuff you’ve been avoiding.

  • Move-In Help: I checked who handles packing and unpacking, so your new place feels like home sooner.

I’d love a self-storage unit, but my budget says the spare chair will have to do. Trouble is, I haven’t seen that chair beneath the clutter in months.

So I went looking for the best professional organizer in Edinburgh. I wanted someone who could help me reclaim a bit of floor without telling me to throw out half my life.

Whether it’s toys, moving boxes or that drawer of mystery cables, the right help can make a difference. Here are the local services I found for sorting things out without the judgement.

How much does a professional organizer service cost in Edinburgh?

Independent professional organizers typically charge £40–£80 per hour in Edinburgh. Teams or agencies charge around £90–£130+ per hour.

An in-home consultation costs about £40–£95. This usually covers a 1.5-hour walkthrough and action plan.

A half-day session costs £120–£280. That covers roughly three to four hours of sorting one room or pantry.

A full-day session costs £240–£480. Allow six to eight hours for a larger kitchen or garage.

A whole-home or move-unpacking project usually takes several sessions. Expect to pay £600–£1,500+.

Hours: Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–6 PM; Sunday, 9:30 AM–6 PM (booking)

If your kitchen cupboards have become a game of hide and seek, Heather Bownass can help you find the saucepan lids again.

She’s been organising Edinburgh homes since 2011, with a practical approach to sorting the things that pile up around everyday life.

I like that The Help Edinburgh offers hands-on decluttering as well as advice for people who’d rather tackle the work themselves.

Heather can suggest manageable tasks between sessions, which sounds useful when one visit won’t sort the whole house.

Her help extends to preparing a home for sale and unpacking after a move. She works with you to set up storage that suits your habits, so putting things away doesn’t become a fresh puzzle.

Hands-on sessions cost £40 an hour, while a personalised advice visit costs £95 in eligible EH postcodes. That gives you a choice between getting stuck in together and learning how to make progress on your own.

The catch is that Heather doesn’t take on extreme hoarding cases. If that’s the support you need, you’ll have to look for a specialist service.

Pros

  • Hands-on decluttering tailored to how you use your home
  • Help with home staging and unpacking after a move
  • Optional tasks between sessions to keep progress going
  • £95 advice visit for those who prefer to do the sorting themselves

Cons

  • Doesn’t take on extreme hoarding cases
  • £95 advice visit is available only in certain EH postcodes

Customer Reviews

I am very grateful and would definitely recommend her services to others

Heather did a truly brilliant job helping me get organised and de-cluttered in preparation for moving house. She was both professional and kind and made the whole process feel easier than I possibly thought it could be. She was also great at giving suggestions and helping me think of how to stay organised long term and prevent things from accumulating again. I am very grateful and would definitely recommend her services to others.

Heather was a huge help in setting up a system for everything in my place

Heather was a huge help in setting up a system for everything in my place. She considered and evaluated things I hadn’t even accounted for, and I’ve had nothing but positive comments from people who’ve visited my flat since, all remarking on the way I’ve organised my kitchen and closets.

She was really patient with me and got me involved every step of the way to ensure I was comfortable with everything.

If your storage system is just closing the cupboard door before anything escapes (ahem!), Nicola Fraser offers a gentler way to sort it.

She builds practical systems around your routines and how your brain works, instead of expecting you to follow a picture-perfect template.

I like that her approach leaves room for people with ADHD or other neurodivergent needs. You can start with a free consultation, then talk through your space and make a plan before the hands-on sorting begins.

Nicola helps you decide what stays, what goes and where the keepers should live. She’ll even take donations away, sparing you a growing pile of bags by the front door.

The catch is that her shortest listed in-home package costs £120 for three hours. If you only want help with one tiny task, that may be more time and money than you’d planned to spend.

Pros

  • Builds organising systems around your routines and needs
  • Offers support suited to ADHD and neurodivergent clients
  • Free consultation before planning the work
  • Takes donations away after in-home sessions

Cons

  • Shortest listed in-home session is three hours at £120 (may be more time than you need for one small task)

Customer Reviews

I would definitely use Nicola’s services again

Nicola came and helped me declutter and organise my son’s bedroom before our upcoming house move. She was absolutely brilliant. She was meticulous about going through everything and helped make hard decisions easier about what to keep or not. She came up with great solutions to storing items in a better way and took away a whole car boot full of charity shop donations. I would definitely use Nicola’s services again and fully recommend her to anyone looking to declutter and organise their home.

I couldn’t recommend Nicola more highly for families with young children

As a lone parent, organising toys has long seemed an insurmountable task. Nicola made it simple and achieved more in one morning than I have in a couple of years. I finally know where to put things! I couldn’t recommend Nicola more highly for families with young children.

If every cupboard in your home has become a game of Jenga, Gemma at Your Organised Space can help you sort the wobble.

I like that she looks at how the whole household works, so the organising makes sense beyond one tidy shelf.

You can work through the clutter together or let Gemma take the lead. She’ll still check with you before deciding what stays, and she can take small items away for donation or reuse.

If you’d rather start from the sofa, her online Power Hour costs £50. It includes storage and room layout advice, plus a personalised action plan you can follow afterwards.

The catch is that in-home bookings have a four-hour minimum at £42 an hour. That’s £168 to start, which could be a bit much if you only need help taming just a couple of drawers.

Pros

  • Can work alongside you or take the lead on sorting
  • Takes small items away for donation or reuse
  • £50 online Power Hour includes a personalised action plan

Cons

  • In-home sessions have a four-hour minimum, starting at £168

I can not recommend Gemma and her ‘organised space’ service enough

I can not recommend Gemma and her ‘organised space’ service enough. My daughter’s room turned out better than I could ever have imagined, let alone achieved myself. Gemma worked non-stop for 6 hours straight! I was knackered; I don’t know how she does it!

Gemma is an absolute life-changer!

Gemma is an absolute life-changer! My kitchen was organised over a year ago, and it’s completely transformed the way I view organisation. The whole service was simple and not at all stressful. I would use it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend to anyone overwhelmed and unsure where to start!

4. A Way With Clutter

Area served: Edinburgh

Contact: 07907810807

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM

If your spare room has become a museum of things you might need someday, Amy at A Way With Clutter could help you reclaim it.

Her approach puts your wellbeing alongside the practical job of deciding what stays and where it belongs.

I like that she starts with a free visit, so you can talk through the task before booking. You can work alongside her, step back while she sorts, or do a bit of both.

Amy tries to reuse storage you already own, which might spare you another trip to buy matching boxes. She can take unwanted items to charity or recycling afterwards, and uses Purdy & Figg products when cleaning.

The catch is that she’s available Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM. If you need to be home for a session and work those hours yourself, finding a suitable slot could be tricky.

Pros

  • Free initial visit to discuss your goals
  • Can work with you or handle much of the sorting independently
  • Reuses existing storage where suitable
  • Takes unwanted items to charity or recycling

Cons

  • Available only Monday–Friday, 9 AM –5 PM, which may be awkward if you work those hours

If your wardrobe has become a place where clothes go to disappear, Jasmine at Create Space can help you find your way back in.

She offers in-person and online organising, with a calm approach to decisions that can feel bigger than a pile of jumpers.

I like that you can start with one cupboard or tackle a whole room. Her one-day sessions run for four to eight hours, while weekly or fortnightly visits give larger projects a steadier pace.

The free 20-minute call lets you explain what’s troubling you and ask questions. If it feels like a fit, a fuller consultation helps Jasmine work out what support suits your home.

One catch is the travel surcharge for in-person visits outside her stated local area. Check that cost before booking if you live beyond Leith, Portobello or the surrounding areas.

Pros

  • Offers both in-person organising and online guidance
  • Can start with a cupboard or tackle a larger space
  • Weekly and fortnightly sessions suit longer projects
  • Free 20-minute initial call

Cons

  • In-person visits outside her stated local area incur a travel surcharge
  • One-day sessions start at four hours, which may be more than a very small job needs

Jasmine gave me a real boost towards organising and decluttering my whole flat

Jasmine gave me a real boost towards organising and decluttering my whole flat. We didn’t get through it all (it was a lot) in one day but we did some key areas and she left me with a list of the next things to do to keep me motivated.

Jasmine was so easy to have in your home

Jasmine was so easy to have in your home and very calming and just got on with the task in hand. I love that we now have got our 1000 condiments organised intro actual categories, lots of separate storage boxes and a proper spice rack!! Woo hoo 🙌 …
