Customer Reviews

I would highly recommend this tailor to anyone in Edinburgh

I had such a wonderful customer experience here! I wanted to tighten the top of a dress with a corset. I wasn’t sure if this type of alteration could be done. Svetlana was extremely patient, she told me exactly what the process entailed and how it could be done. She was not only extremely professional, but also very welcoming and reassuring. I went to pick up my dress the next week. There were no delays and it fit me like a glove. I would highly recommend this tailor to anyone in Edinburgh.

A great professional service

Svetlana is incredibly talented. She altered three skirts for me, one which was too large and two which were too small. The finished results were perfect, and look wonderful. Her alterations were delicate and very neat. I’m so pleased to have my skirts brought back to life. I recommend Svetlana and Maria’s Alterations highly. I will definitely return with future projects. A great professional service. Thanks so much Svetlana. 10/10

The tailor lady was very welcoming and polite

I brought in a wedding dress and I was astonished by the level of amazing work they have done. The tailor lady was very welcoming and polite and assured me that the work is going to be done perfectly. And she, indeed, achieved it! I’ll make sure to come back whenever I need another fix. It fits me perfectly!

Customer Reviews

I highly recommend!

Super quick and clean work! I took the dress in on Tuesday and had it back by Friday. The original quote to take in my dress was out of budget as they would have had to restructure the entire back of the dress. They were very understanding and worked out a different solution I could afford, and now the dress fits beautifully. I highly recommend!

Excellent service and incredibly kind staff

Excellent service and incredibly kind staff. I came in to have a small seam rip fixed on a pair of tux pants. They not only fixed the rip in under a minute but did so entirely free of charge. The fix was admittedly a small job but this experience is testament to the honest nature of this establishment and its proprietors. Today I was a first time customer (if you can even call me that) but I’ll certainly be a repeat going forward.

Customer Reviews

The girls are magicians

The girls are magicians. Incredible knowledge and so efficient. I had a beautiful dress that I wanted to see if they could adjust to wear for my wedding. 16 weeks pregnant it was getting too tight, they fixed it up for me right away and it fits beautifully. Thank you!

Everything was done quick and I will definitely use them again

Absolutely fantastic – took 2 dresses in to have significant alterations. Really professional in addressing style options and gave great advice on how the alterations should be done to suit my shape and the dress style

Gave a quote for the work upfront – it was a difficult adjustment and they wanted to make sure it was done right so popped back for a check before I needed the dress so they could make sure they had it done right

Everything was done quick and I will definitely use them again
